TRIPLE GLAZING
Triple glazing is a system of sealed unity using three sheets of glass rather than two in the standard double glazed unit. Triple glazing is not yet the norm in the UK, in colder countries such as in Scandinavia it has been a building standard for many years.
The aim of triple glazing is to provide better thermal and sound insulation than you would find with other forms of windows. The inner pane and sometimes the middle pane has a low emissivity coating. Also known as K Glass, this has a metallic coating on the inner side of the unit. The effect of the coating is to allow short wave length sunlight to enter a room and heat it up and achieve a large reflection on the long wave length sunlight, thus the window minimises the existing heat loss that exists around all windows. So if you are looking for improvements on your heat loss and extra sound proofing to your home speak to our sales representative about upgrading to triple glazing.
SECONDARY GLAZING
We manufacture and install aluminium secondary glazing for both domestic and trade customers.
Secondary glazing is a simple window system which fits to the inside of your existing windows and is either fixed to the window frames or to the reveal. The system eliminates draughts, reduces condensation, reduces outside noise and reduces your fuel bills!
The four main types of secondary glazing are hinged units, liftouts, horizontal two, three or four pane sliders and vertical two pane sliders. These can be either manual (smaller sizes) or spring counter balanced (large sizes). The counter balanced ones can also incorporate a tilt in facility for easy cleaning.
The metal sections are finished silver anodised van dyke brown or in white electropheritic paint as standard or can be powder coated to any RAL colour at extra cost.
CASEMENT WINDOWS
Casement windows are the most popular style of replacement window in the UK being an extremely versatile stylish and durable window that will suit any property wherever you live. Featuring fixed panes, top and side hung combinations, casement windows can be combined to create an almost limitless range of styles, whilst providing the benefit of noise reduction, low maintenance, safety and security and energy efficiency.
BAY and BOW WINDOWS
Bays are created using Casement windows which are connected using strong, structural corner posts (square bays)
Bow windows are a great way to add extra light to a dark room and they also make a room feel so much larger offering an internal cill with openers wherever you like whether this be the bottom or top sections. you also have the option to add Georgian bar, leading or bevelled glass to really make your property stand out from the crowd.
TILT & TURN WINDOWS
Tilt and Turn PVCu windows offer a simple, contemporary and stylish solution to the modern property, together with the benefits of noise reduction, low maintenance, safety and security and energy efficiency. Tilt and Turn windows can be operated in two ways:
‘Tilt Position’ – the window sash remains firmly and safely closed at the bottom whilst the top tilts in towards the room to provide enhanced ventilation.
‘Turn Position’ – the window sash opens at the side with an inward opening of 90 degrees, making it suitable as a fire escape exit. This facility also ensures the exterior of the window can be safely and easily cleaned from inside the home.
VERTICAL SLIDERS
These sliding sash windows can help to keep your property look traditional, designed to replicate traditional timber box sash windows.
The Vertical Slider features two sash openings: the slide and tilt facility. These opening facilities allow for enhanced ventilation, hassle free maintenance and aesthetic appeal, whilst still maintaining the safety and security properties of the window.
Sliding Facility – both the top and bottom sash can be moved vertically and held in the required position; sashes can be operated individually or simultaneously
Tilting Facility – after the sashes have been set in the required slide position, the tilt facility can then be operated individually or simultaneously.
Both sashes within the Vertical Slider are fitted with high-performance gearing and restrictor hinges to ensure only the highest levels of safety and security for your home.
Vertical Sliders can be personalised with the addition of Georgian, or Astrical bar and decorative Sash Horns.
SHAPED FRAMES/NON STANDARD WINDOWS
With advanced techniques window frames can be moulded and shaped to virtually any shape including every style of arch, porthole frames etc. and are manufactured to specific size requirements. All shaped frames are designed to complement your existing windows and doors with a fully sculpted frame finish and a range of colour and glazing options also available.
We can also convert your flat frame windows to curved bow or square bay windows.
GLASS
We can offer a range of insulated glazed units and glass solutions suitable for both domestic and commercial applications.
Energy efficiency is of utmost importance in today’s current climate; all our double and triple glazed units offer only the highest levels of thermal performance, ensuring savings on home heating bills and reduced waste energy emissions.
GLASS CHOICES INCLUDES:
Soft Coat Glass – This is the inner pane glass and offers excellent levels of energy performance.
Soft Coat is an off-line coated Low Emissivity glass, absorbing solar heat from the sun whilst reflecting internal heat back into the home.
Glazing units featuring Soft Coat glass eliminates cold areas around the window, reduces condensation and offers a clear and neutral appearance.
Textured Glass – Decorative patterns and designs are embossed into the surface of the glass pane; ideal for applications where privacy is to be maintained, for example bathroom windows. Click here to see our choice of textured glass) All textured glass can be toughened for extra safety and security.
Toughened Applications – Toughened applications are up to 5 times stronger than standard glass and are designed for maximum impact resistance. Toughening is recognised as a type of safety glass and meets international glass safety standards.
Laminate Applications – Laminate glass is produced by combining standard glass panes with PVB (Polyvinyl Butyral) interlayers. This maximises the overall integrity of the glass and ensures that the glass remains held together if smashed or shattered.
Solar Control Glass – A range of tinted glass to control solar input and output is available, including bronze, grey, green and blue. Solar control glass is ideal for applications which require heat absorption to be regulated, for example: conservatories and sunrooms. Solar Control glass can be toughened or laminated for safety.
Self-Cleaning Glass – Self cleaning double glazing is now available and is an ideal option for those situations where accessibility to clean is restricted.
Leading & Coloured Leads – Lead is applied to both sides of the outer pane of glass so the inside surface remains smooth and easy to clean. Leading can also be specified to go on the inside of the outside pane (between the two panes) making the double glazed unit smooth inside and out.
Bevelled and coloured leaded units are also very popular and can be added to fanlights to personalise your windows. the coloured film is encapsulated inside the double glazing to protect it from wear and tear.
